Lithuania--like all the Baltic States--is a freedom loving precious gem with much to celebrate and emulate. To your point 8, certainly at an interesting crossroad of cultures, but not without their own historical demons that their nationalism resists coming to terms with. See: https://silviafoti.com
The last person you want to learn the truth from is SIlvia Foti! She is just an instrument in the Russian smear campaign against Lithuania. Russia cannot get over the fact that Lithuania (as many other post-soviet countries) is doing so well after the breakup of the Soviet Union. The fact she is basing her claims on "documents" fabricated by KGB is pretty telling.
Very lame excuse/argument. More reminiscent of modern Russian rhetorics themselves than anything else. One should do as much research as Silvia has done, before dismissing it as ‘fabrication’. We should know and own our history better. It was, what it was and it is a very sad part of our history. But this is not a place to discuss this, this is a really cool article! Well done Angelica!
I don't know if it is a cool fact, but Lituania is also the last country that joined the Eurozone. And for that they got a "Cauliflower Revolution" (check Wikipedia article...)...
I was in Vilnius in 2014 for the 25th anniversary of the Baltic Way: Lituania (and other Baltic states by the way) are definitely worth a visit!

Still--a very cool place.
